Snow White & The Huntsman: Extended Edition Review
This is not your Disney fairy tale! Snow White & The Huntsman: Extended Edition DVD/Blu-Ray/Ultraviolet and Digital copy is available to own on September 11, 2012.
Plot Synopsis: In this spectacular action-adventure, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) is Snow White, the only woman in the land fairer than the evil queen Ravenna (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron). Ravenna wants nothing more than to destroy her young rival, but she doesn’t know that Show White has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) the queen dispatched to kill her. Together with a handsome prince (Sam Claflin) enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power, they assemble an armed force to recapture the kingdom. This breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders is, in the words of Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV, “A film that soars with creativity, stylistic genius and amazing battle scenes.”
This fantasy world blends visual artistry, action packed sequences, unique special effects and fairy tale legend. And while I am a lover of a happily ever after, I was drawn to Charlize Theron's performance as Queen Ravenna. She was riveting to watch. Watching Chris Hemsworth (aka Thor) was BONUS pleasure as well. :)
There's lots of bonus features packed into this new release, including lots of behind the scenes featurettes, commentaries, and the never before seen extended version of the movie. I loved the 360 degree Set Tour feature.
Being a family-friendly site, I highly warn that parents with small children should be highly cautioned in watching this movie (rated PG-13). There are scary, dark themes found throughout the movie with suspenseful scenes. Older teen Kristen Stewart fans (aka Bella in Twilight) will find this movie right up their alleys.
I found Snow White & the Huntsman to be an entertaining and visually stunning movie to watch. Let me know what you think!

Cool way to save! I can noy wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteGreat review! I think watching anything with Chris Hemsworth in it is a bonus, lol! He's one of the main reasons why I want to watch this movie really. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film, mainly from coworkers of mine at Dish, so I’m not too sure how excited I am to check it out. It does sound like it was something you enjoyed, so maybe I am in for a good treat after all. I'm going to check it out in a couple days when I get it in the mail from my Blockbuster @Home package to see how I feel about it. Anything with Kristen Stewart it in kind of drives me away, but maybe she'll surprise me in this one. :)
