I always admire restaurants that think outside of the box. Sweet Tomatoes / Souplantation, one of the few restaurant chains that offer FRESH, from scratch, and definitely tasty all-you-care-to-eat buffet for a low price. You can *see* the fresh veggies in their salad bar, *taste* the homemade quality in their from scratch soups, and *smell* the fresh baked muffins coming out of the oven. And true to nature, they offer seasonal menus to reflect the best produce of the month. They offer a gluten-free menu too! As a parent, it's wonderful to be able to go to a buffet restaurant and not worry about what ingredients your kids are eating.
June is one of my favorite months at Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation!
Berries are sweet and in season's peak!
My family just enjoyed our dinner out to our local Sweet Tomatoes. I always gravitate towards my favorite homemade blueberry muffins (no place makes them better!), and the hearty soup (today was the potato, tomato and spinach soup, YUM!). I also grabbed the warm strawberry apple cobbler. Even though I am so biased towards the blueberry muffins, I have to admit that the cobbler was heavenly!
My husband really enjoyed his strawberry fields salad with carmelized walnuts, topped with the fat-free raspberry vinaigrette.
My son loved his focciata pizza, side of fresh fruit (berries included!), croutons and ice cream :) We had fresh squeezed and homemade strawberry lemonade, a PERFECT summer drink!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE Sweet Tomatoes! It's about time for another visit. The last time I went was in April, when they had some yummy lemon-based dishes. They had an amazing pasta with a lemon caper cream sauce that was divine!

ReplyDeleteI love Sweet Tomatoes but my husband doesn't. He's baffled that I could love a place that doesn't serve real meat! The only time we are ever allowed to go is when we have awesome coupons! I would die for one of their special cookies that the waitress hands out while you eat!! Thanks for the chance to eat my beloved food! Haley F.

ReplyDeleteI have a friend in California who LOVES Souplantation. I've honestly not yet been there or Sweet Tomatoes. I love how fresh and colorful their dining options are. I feel better about a buffet of salads versus a buffet of pizza!
